To the Lebanese cultured
public, the consecutive performances (June 7, 8,
9) of the KOHAR Symphony Orchestra and Choir of
Gyumri, Armenia, was a marked blessing and a
gratifying cultural experience. Composed of 130
musicians, singers, solo performers, dancers and
a mine artist, KOHAR presented three concerts to
tightpacked audiences of 4,000 in BIEL, downtown
Beirut under the unassuming title of “All Time
Armenian Favourites”. The widely acclaimed
program was executed under the magical and
masterful fiddle stick of creative and
innovative director and conductor Sebouh
Abcarian.
Prior to the BIEL concerts,
KOHAR gave a successful performance in Cyprus,
also to a fully packed auditorium in Falcon
Theatre, Nicosia.
The DVD box contains a 112 page illustrative
booklet, which includes detailed information on
the performers, song lyrics - both in Armenian &
transliterated and newspaper reviews.

Choir’s DVD was bestowed the Anoush Achievement
Award during the 7th annual Armenian Music
Awards, held at Hollywood Palladium, California,
Thursday May 19th 2005.
The Anoush Achievement Award
was presented to KOHAR Symphony Orchestra &
Choir for its contribution to the Armenian
identity, which is exemplified through the DVD
of KOHAR under the title “All Time Armenian
Favourites”.

On October 9, 10, 11, and 12
at Lutfi Kirdar Concert Hall, the turn was for
the Armenians of Bolis to enjoy KOHAR's
presentation of "All Time Armenian Favourites"
after similar concerts of 2002 in Nicosia and in
Beirut. More than 7000 Armenian and other
audiences from Bolis, the suburbs clapped "with
a bursting applause", expressing their love and
nostalgia for Armenian song and music and
conveying their gratitude
to these magnificent concerts' organizers and
patrons.
